NYC, Hazleton and Kooky Fights

19 June 2009

You may have noticed that posting turned more infrequent over the past week. That’s because I was in Southern California, doing everything from interviewing Mike Scioscia about Joe Maddon (went well) to attending Angele’s 20-year elementary school reunion (!).

Well, I’m about to hit the road again for a five-day trip, this one more like 95% work/5% shenanigans. Off to NYC to catch the Rays play the Mets at Citi Field (assuming the weather holds), then to Hazleton, PA to talk to the locals about native son Joe Maddon (this is definitely the Maddon stretch of the book’s reporting itinerary). I’ll try to sneak in a post or two, at the very least the podcast I did with Dave Dameshek last night that should go up in a few hours, maybe some sights and sounds from Citi, and the random roads of Pennsylvania.

Until then, here’s a little something to tide you over (h/t Ben S.). If this doesn’t cheer you up on a June gloom Friday, nothing will.
