Link of the Day: How Do We Love Thee, Chipotle?
My buddy Howard is obsessed with the fast-food burrito chain Chipotle. With good reason. The food is tasty and relatively healthy for fast food, plus Chipotle only very recently cracked the Toronto market (where Howard lives), giving the chain much of the same mystique that surrounded chains like Krispy Kreme before they broke into a given market.
Despite Chipotle’s greater presence on this side of the border, I’m a fan too, simply because the burritos taste good. But now I like the place even more. New York Mag reports that Chipotle is taking aggressive steps toward supporting local small- and medium-sized farms in delivering their food, music to the ears of locavores and sustainable eating in general.
Muy bien, Chipotle. Or as Howard would say: “YEEESSSSSS!!!”, followed by “Aqui!”

Still waiting for a Chipotle in the Louisville area!! The only Chipotle restaurants in Kentucky are in the Eastern half of the state, starting around Lexington. I’ve been loyal to Chipotle since the first time I had it a few years ago in a Cleveland suburb. My buddy Corey and I mentioned it was the first time we’d ever been to Chipotle, so the manager gave us our meals for free. So that’s always a plus, not to mention their food is delicious. (I swear, they must put cocaine or heroin on their chips when they drizzle them with lime, those things are addictive)

Even though they are owned by McDonald’s, I too am obsessed with Chipotle. Best pork ever.
