Link of the Day: Japan Calling

19 December 2008

Dick Hayhurst is a minor league baseball pitcher who also happens to be a great writer. Flip through the archives of his “Non-Prospect Diary” and you’ll find some amazing, poignant stories, written in a way that suggest a professional writer a lot more than a professional athlete (or at least the typical perception of a professional athlete).

He’s outdone himself this time, though. I don’t care if you have zero interest in baseball, or flat out hate the sport. You need to read this.

It’s a guilty pleasure of a story, really. Unbelievably crude and immature, borderline offensive. Also, a prank for the ages.
