My Yankee Stadium Memories
My friend Alex Belth, proprietor of the terrific Yankees blog Bronx Banter, recently invited me to share my favorite (or most notable) Yankee Stadium Memories. It was a great honor, given some of the other luminaries who share their memories: Allen Barra (a terrific writer and author of the upcoming stellar Yogi Berra biography, “Yogi”), Ken Rosenthal of FOX, Jane Leavy, author of “Sandy Koufax: A Lefty’s Legacy”, one of my five favorite sports book of all-time, and many others.
Anyway, I did my best to keep up with those great writers. Here’s my contribution to Bronx Banter “Lasting Yankee Stadium Memories”. Click here, and enjoy.

The second half of the story is a truly heartbreaking account. Almost nothing in the world is worse than when a parent or grandparent finds some BS excuse to keep you from going to a sporting event/concert/any other “fun” activity. “It’s too hot” is all too commonly used to mistreat and abuse poor, defenseless children. Dave Righetti should be forced to donate all his free time to fighting this tragic, frequent occurence. Am I right?
