When it comes to serious, critical commentary on this election, we just can’t rely on the mainstream political media. When they’re not spreading the lies fed to them by campaign mouthpieces, they’re fixating on fluff.
Fortunately, we do have one bastion of intelligent commentary left: the satirists. You can make fun of people who get all their news and analysis from venues such as The Daily Show, the Colbert Report, and Saturday Night Live. But the truth is that those shows are the only ones out there calling politicians on the BS that “real” news sources are only too happy to spread. In fact, their satirical version of events usually comes closer to the truth than the version spun by the MSM. It’s damn funny too.
So, since I wasn’t able to post this over the weekend (flying home from a nine-day trip to Hong Kong and Tokyo will do that), here’s SNL great Sarah Palin (Tina Fey)/Hillary Clinton (Amy Poehler) opening.
Enjoy.

The funny guys (and gals) are the only ones who do it right
