One of my all-time favorites, former Baltimore Orioles manager Earl Weaver, delivers one of my favorite YouTube clips ever.

The Pittsburgh Pirates Pirates hold their ground on draft negotiations…and it works perfectly.

I’m a big fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and the work done by their young, bright front office. But General Manager Andrew Friedman’s negotiation skills are downright cruel.

Strong contender for Photo of the Year. Get ready to bounce.

ESPN’s Ombudsman is excellent.

Living on a Prayer…of learning how to spell.

Wow, can I write a garbage book filled with lies and go to #1 on the bestseller list too?

Nate Silver of Baseball Prospectus and my favorite political site, on Countdown with Keith Olbermann

Wal-Mart hates Barack Obama.’s Glenn Greenwald on the anthrax scare that led the U.S. to declare war, and the lies that came with it. Holy. Crap.

Urban gentrification is triggering a Trading Places effect.

This book on the causes and implications of traffic looks fascinating and is on my wish list for my birthday next month.

Amazing discoveries about DNA and behavior

Free markets 1, religion-based repression 0 in fast-growing Turkey.

Finally, for anyone who has a friend or loved one who’s a film buff, I just saved you the trouble of shopping for a birthday/Christmas/Hanukkah/Arbor Day gift. Buy it. Trust me.
